Pupils, staff and parents are celebrating following an excellent set of results achieved by Collegiate Year 11s, despite the doom and gloom news headlines predicting falling percentages of top grades. Of course, we were aware this cohort would be measured in these exams at the same level as their pre-pandemic predecessors from 2019 so our young people, their teachers, and their parents, responded by getting their heads down and working really hard to prepare for their GCSEs. They have reaped the rewards for that hard work! The following headline results are testament to their efforts: 58% of grades at 7 to 9 (Equivalent of A/A*); 17% of grades were 9s; 20% of students achieved all grades at 7 or above.
Collegiate Head, Mr Jeremy McCullough, said: “While it is important to remember that our students always learn far more than simply what is required to pass exams, it is certainly very rewarding to see them achieve such good examination results. We know that these brilliant young people have also excelled in sport, music, drama and other areas too. In addition, their holistic education will have helped them develop a great many other personal qualities, such as resilience and determination, that will stand them in good stead for the future.”
