Jess Brisdon recently got in touch to see if the OCs would like her father’s old rugby school blazer. Her father Chris Cole (officially William Alfred) passed away in 2015 and Jess was looking for a good home for the blazer and said “I'm so pleased it can be used to showcase your school’s history…I’m glad it has a new home!”
Chris was a keen musician whilst at school and used to play the organ and, Jess believes, drums in the marching band.
On 1st October we were able to welcome Jess and her sister Theresa to the school to show them where their father spent his childhood as a boarder. He helped out with the grounds and as a lifeguard and went on to work in farming. They were particularly pleased to see the chapel. We were delighted to accept the blazer, which is in great condition, and which has the school crest/badge of the time with 1st XV 1953-4 on the breast pocket.
A really big thank you to Jess and Theresa for donating the blazer.
