OC News |
We do love hearing from our OCs, and we were over the moon to recently hear from Spence Wewe. Spence left last summer to spend time in Canada and the US pursuing basketball at a prep organization.
Spence says “Being so far from home for so long was a huge opportunity for me to grow and mature, and I'm extremely grateful that I took that leap of faith to pursue something I truly enjoy. I had an amazing time exploring North America. I visited and played games in over twelve states in front of hundreds of coaches, and by the end of my time there, I left with over forty full scholarship offers to play basketball and study at their respective schools, six of which were division one schools.
On the 27th of May, I made the decision to commit to Quinnipiac University to play D1 basketball and study on a full scholarship and signed my letter of intent. I am currently in the process of enrolling and applying to the school."
As if that is not amazing enough, Spence has also received an official call-up for the Austrian U23 basketball team and will be attending a training camp and games in Vienna and Portugal this month.
Very well-done Spence- we are very proud of you!
