We were delighted to recently welcome former Head Boy, Richard Hull, back to the school.

Richard - who was Head Boy in 1955, captain of the rugby team, esteemed long-distance runner and lead in the school play – joined us for a whole day, where he gave a fascinating talk to Year 8 as well as meeting with the Head and reminiscing about his time, before enjoying lunch in the dining room whilst sat underneath his name on the honours board.

Richard, 86, now lives in Poundbury, Dorchester; he was a recipient of a full scholarship in 1948, before going on to study physics at Oxford University. He brought along some old school reports, copies of the school magazine and a pristine copy of his father’s ration book from the Second World War.

He said: “I much enjoyed my time particularly of course speaking to the pupils”
