Some Sad news

I am afraid I have some sad news for those colleagues who will fondly remember Lindsey Wight, our former Head of Learning Support. I am sorry to report that Lindsey has lost a battle with cancer and that she passed away earlier this week. I am indebted to Abi for these kind words:

“She left Colston’s in 2015 after a long and distinguished career in the SEN department. Lindsey was a fantastically talented teacher and nurtured the young people who came her way, ensuring that they fulfilled their potential. I know that many OCs will be indebted to Lindsey and will feel that they owe much of their subsequent successes to the hard work and unerring championing of their cause by Lindsey. Many will want to pay their respects. Lindsey was an incredibly dedicated teacher and students recognised the authentic desire she had to help them achieve their potential.

In recent years, Lindsey has suffered hugely from a previously undiagnosed heart condition and had a very serious heart attack 3 years ago from which she determinedly fought back. However, this September she was diagnosed with an aggressively malignant cancer which had spread through her body. She sadly lost her battle with the cancer just over a month after it’s first diagnosis. She leaves behind a devoted husband, Bob.”

We understand that a funeral for close family members will be held on Monday 2nd November. We will, of course, communicate the Colston's community's condolences.

Mr. J. McCullough
Headmaster
