We have had some fantastic support from our OCs over the past few weeks. As well as the recent Year 13 Networking Lunch we have had OCs in supporting our current students with PE, drama, languages Myles text
In December Will Crawshaw offered an online Q and A to those doing apprenticeship applications, whilst Kai Porter supported the Year 13 dramatists with their monologue/ audition pieces for post-18.
In February Collegiate was delighted to welcome Dave Alred MBE PhD into school to share his wisdom with a select group of athletes. Elite performance coach Dave, of whom Jonny Wilkinson said after kicking England to World Cup Glory in 2003: "...how much confidence it gave me to know that I had the best kicking coach in the world working with me," delivered a theory session followed by a kicking session in the Sports Hall. As well as Wilkinson, Dave has also worked with the likes of golfing star Padraig Harrington, always with the same goal in mind: to make sure individuals improve themselves far beyond their own personal expectations. Further sessions will follow at school and our pupils are sure to benefit hugely from the experience.
Also in February Josh Nowell was kind enough to come back and speak to a range of pupils from Year 7 to Year 12 to share his experience of his Law and French course at the University of Bristol.
This month Myles Kamwendo came in to do a Q and A session about the arts and his career since leaving Collegiate for Careers week. Myles Kamwendo is currently starring in the BBC 'dramedy' Boarders and it was an awesome opportunity for our Drama students to get some insight and tips into life as an actor.
A really big thank you to all our OCs for providing invaluable support to our students. If you can help please do get in touch.
